Install and Test the Gate First

Tighten the rear nut firmly when installing the gate.

Before filling the bucket with honey, perform a leak test using water. Check carefully around the gate fitting and sealing surfaces, then make any necessary adjustments.

This is much easier than discovering a loose fitting after the pail contains a full batch of honey.
