Uncapping Bag

Recover honey that remains trapped in wax cappings and burr comb with a simple fine-mesh uncapping bag.

During extraction, freshly removed cappings can hold a surprising amount of honey. Rather than allowing that honey to remain mixed with the wax, place the material inside the bag and allow gravity or centrifugal force to help separate the liquid honey.

Recover Honey from Cappings and Burr Comb

The bag can be filled with:

  • Wax cappings
  • Burr comb
  • Small broken pieces of honeycomb

Once filled, use the hooks to position the bag inside a compatible extractor. As the extractor operates, honey can move through the fine mesh while larger wax material remains contained.

Alternatively, the bag can be hung from the side of a bucket and allowed to drain.

This flexibility makes it useful for both active extraction and slower gravity-based separation.

Simple, Reusable Honey Processing Tool

Because the wax remains contained in the mesh, the bag can help keep your honey-processing area more organised while improving recovery from cappings.

After use, clean the fine mesh using a hose or warm water. Once washed and dried, the bag can be stored for the next harvest.
