Made in America by Mann Lake, this feeder replaces a frame position inside the hive and holds approximately 3 litres of syrup.
Its in-hive position makes it especially useful during early and mid winter, in smaller colonies and in nucs.
Approx. 3 Litre Capacity
The feeder has a one-gallon capacity, approximately 3 litres.
This allows it to hold more syrup than smaller entrance feeders and round top feeders.
Ideal for Smaller Colonies
A frame feeder takes the place of an empty or undrawn frame.
In a smaller colony, this reduces unused internal space while keeping syrup close to the bees.
It also works well in nucleus colonies.
Useful in Cooler Weather
Because the feeder is positioned inside the hive, it performs well during early and mid winter when temperatures are lower.
Reduced Robbing Risk
Keeping the syrup inside the hive reduces the chance of robbing compared with exposed feeding arrangements.

Good quality, good fit
By: Anonymous on 16 May 2018As other frame feeders I have seen tend to be a bit larger than a frame (making for awkward fit), this is a good size and is good build quality (so I do not expect it to bulge or crack anytime soon).Note that this is the yellow feeder, not the black one (for some reason) also pictured (with the wood top and caps) - which is a bit confusing. The textured interior and included floats do effectively prevent drowning, and the capacity is a good compromise between time before needing to refill and old syrup fermenting. So overall, not perfect but recommended for an easy and versatile frame-swap-out supplemental feeder (that also fits in a Nuc).
