Rather than being joined with nails or staples, the screwed hive box is held together using 44 screws. Consequently, the box provides dependable structural support during inspections, hive movement and routine seasonal management.

Wax-Dipped and Fully Painted

After assembly, the timber is wax-dipped at approximately 180°C. It then receives one coat of primer and two coats of white paint. Therefore, this wax dipped hive box does not require additional painting or timber treatment before frames are installed.

The finished surface also gives the painted bee box a clean, consistent appearance when combined with other compatible 10-frame hive components.
