Rather than relying on one or two narrow exits, the board uses ten cone-shaped escape pathways positioned within a deep, ventilated structure.

Ten Cone Escapes

Bees moving down towards the brood area have multiple exit routes available.

Once below the board, the cone-shaped design makes it difficult for them to identify the route back into the honey super.

This can make the super easier to remove later with far less brushing at harvest.

Room Below for Escaping Bees

The elevated design creates space underneath the escape section.

This prevents the outlets from sitting immediately against the frames below and gives bees room to disperse after passing through.

Ventilation for Pheromone Transfer

Open areas through the board support airflow and pheromone transfer between the colony and super.

Maintaining this connection helps encourage bees to continue moving toward the main colony rather than treating the upper box as completely isolated.
